Please reach us at Andersonklj4@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question or you may ask your ward camp director or YW leaders.
This year's theme is "Daughter of A Heavenly King".
Camp cost this year is $135. Many wards have planned fundraisers to offset the cost. Please see your ward YW leaders for how much families from your particular ward are expected to pay out of pocket. Wards will collect the funds and get them to the right place.
This Girls Camp is for YW in the Mt. Franklin Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Other young women may come but they must fit the age demographic of our other campers, contact our YW leaders, fill out registration on time, pay the fee, and abide by the same behavior and dress standards as YW in the stake. No young men are allowed at camp nor are young children (below age 11 by the start of 2025).
Camp activities are a combination of all the youth goal areas - intellectual, spiritual, social and physical. There will be survival/camping lessons, spiritual lessons and firesides, hikes, crafts, games, singing, high adventure activities, free time, service projects and more.
Yes! We have several hikes to choose from on hike day. We also have an excursion to Ruidoso Winter Park. They have summer activities like a roller coaster, ziplining and tubing. You can check it out at https://ruidosowinterpark.com. You will be asked to sign a waiver one month before camp. If you submit the waiver too early it will be discarded, so wait for camp leaders to direct you to sign it.
It has been determined that this year the campers will camp by levels (ages).
1st years - born in 2013
2nd years - born in 2012
3rd years - born in 2011
4th years - born in 2010
YCLs born between 9/1/06 and 12/31/2008
Exact camp times have not yet been determined but wards usually leave in the morning and arrive before lunch on their arrival days. Camp ends on Saturday but all cleaning and chores must be complete before anyone leaves so an exact time cannot be known. However, it is usually in the early afternoon.
Please see the packing list under Forms or ask your ward camp director or YW leaders.
1. Fill out the Google form. Note that you will need to do this for each camper.
2. Complete the permission slip and medical form. There are three ways to do this:
3. Complete the photo release form. You may fill it out by taking a screenshot and using the photo markup tool. Click the plus button under markup to create a signature or add text if you'd like. When finished email to the camp email listed in the step above. Another way to complete it is to print the photo release and fill it out in ink. Then give it to your Ward Camp Director.
NOTE: If parents choose not to give permission for the photo release, you must send an email with your child's full name, your denial of permission and your full name to the camp email listed in step 2.
YCLs are youth camp leaders. They help plan and run Girls Camp. They are assigned to an age level. They teach, support and care for those in that age level. They make sure everyone feels included and facilitate a wonderful time at camp. YCLs must come with a good attitude, lots of enthusiasm and a Christlike example.
This is essential if you want to be a YCL!
YCL 1 is born in 2009. YCL 2 is born between 9/1/06 and 12/31/2008. If born between 9/1/06 and 12/31/07 AND have been a YCL twice already, we will address it on an individual basis.
Most YCL meetings are 10am-noon at the Stake Center. The dates are Jan 11, Feb 1, Mar 1, Mar 29, Apr 26 and Jun 1. The June meeting is at the Stake Center but at 4pm. YCLs must attend five meetings. There are six meetings and there will be at least two makeup meetings on a weekday.
YCLs go up to camp early on Tuesday, Jun 17 before the other campers.
In Cloudcroft, turn south on Hwy 130/Cox Canyon Highway and proceed for 6.75 miles past Chippaway.
Turn left (north) up the hill at the second sign that says “Waterfall Estates” onto Heather Way. There is an LDS
sign at the turn.
Continue on Heather Way for .7 mile to a sign at the camp gate. Note: If you pass mile marker 7 you have passed
the gate.
